Integral Powertrain
Integral Powertrain Ltd (IP) was founded in 1998 by its four current directors John, Luke, Darren and Roger, who had previously worked for a number of years at Cosworth’s road engine business.
Over the first 10 years the business built a strong reputation and a prestigious client base of OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers across a wide range of automotive and aerospace sectors. The key work streams in this period were delivering high quality I/C engines and controls in addition to advanced CAE processes customised to client requirements.
As the importance of reducing CO2 emissions grew, Integral Powertrain employed a strong ‘first principles’ engineering capability to develop a number of innovative technologies and services. One of these, a supercharging and mild hybrid system called SuperGen, is the focus of a complimentary business unit called “Integral Powertrain Technology Ltd”.

SUPERGEN – the Technology – is an integrated belt starter generator and electro mechanical supercharger. The concept was created in 2006. Following a decade of almost continuous development our talented team of engineers have created a production ready platform of electric motors and superchargers.
SUPERGEN – the Business – was founded in 2014 as a joint venture between Integral Powertrain Ltd and Magna International.
In creating SUPERGEN – the Technology & the Business – our team have developed compact, efficient, and affordable, electric motor, power electronics, controls, traction drive and pressure charging solutions that can be configured to integrate efficiently into the powertrain of the next generation of mobile machines.
